In addition to the existing BGE Smart Energy Savers ProgramSM rebates, starting July 30, 2010, new rebates are available by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA).

ARRA/MEA rebates are not guaranteed. ARRA/MEA rebates will be processed in the order they are received until funding runs out. Applications that are fully completed and include all required information will be processed first. Incomplete or incorrectly filled-in applications will delay processing and reduce or eliminate chances of receiving a rebate. Consumers MUST use the application appropriate to their electric utility provider and submit the application to that electric utility provider. Applications received that are not from a customer’s electric utility provider will be disqualified. All rebates will be paid directly to consumers. The appliance must be installed in a Maryland residence, and rebates are for residential consumers only. Consumers must certify that the new appliance/equipment replaces the same type at their listed installation address. The old appliance/equipment must be taken out of operation and not reinstalled. Landlords and property managers are not eligible for this rebate.
ARRA/MEA rebates are not retroactive -- purchases made or installed before July 30, 2010 will not qualify for the additional ARRA/MEA rebates. The appliance/equipment must be purchased at a Maryland retailer, from a Maryland licensed contractor, or the buyer must have paid applicable Maryland sales and use tax.
