Energy Solutions for Business – Prescriptive Projects
 
Prescriptive projects include:
Follow these simple steps to receive your rebate: 
 
Start by having your contractor, distributor, or internal staff estimate the total incentive amount for your equipment. If total incentives are less than $5,000, then pre-approval is NOT required.
 
For projects where pre-approval is NOT required (Incentives $5,000 or less):
1. Purchase and install the new equipment.
 
2. Complete and submit the appropriate application with authorized signature and include all detailed invoices.

3. Receive your incentive check within 6–8 weeks after verification of the approved project. 
 
For projects where pre-approval IS required (Incentives $5,000 or greater):
1. Please submit an unsigned application and await pre-approval before proceeding. (Note: Project expenditures made by the customer prior to the customer receiving approval of an application will not be eligible for incentives.) Include the following supporting information along with your unsigned application:
  • Inventory worksheets for lighting and controls
  • Manufacturer’s data sheets
2. You will be notified in writing when your project has been approved for payment. (Note: A site inspection may be required as part of BGE’s approval process.)

3. Purchase and install the new equipment. Notify BGE before implementing any changes to the approved project scope.
 
4. Sign and submit your application with an authorized signature and supporting documentation, including detailed invoices. If pre-approval was required, ensure that the final equipment installed is identical to the equipment specified in your initial application. (Note: A post-installation inspection may be required to verify that the project was installed as proposed. You will be notified when your project has been approved for payment.)
 
5. Receive your incentive check within 6–8 weeks after verification of the approved project.
 
 
Energy Solutions for Business – Custom Projects
 
Develop the scope of your project either by contacting a contractor of your choice or by working with your internal staff. Then follow these simple steps to receive your rebate:
 
1. Contact a BGE Energy Solutions for Business representative to determine your project’s eligibility.
 
2. Submit the Custom for approval prior to starting the project, along with the supporting information listed below.
  • Project overview
  • Existing and proposed system descriptions
  • Energy impact and cost calculations
  • Manufacturer’s data sheets
(Note: Project expenditures made by the customer prior to the customer receiving approval of an application will not be eligible for incentives.)
 
(Note: A site inspection may be required as part of BGE’s approval process. You will learn the minimum operation requirements.)
 
3. You will be notified in writing when your project has been approved for payment and what the operational requirements will be. After you receive approval, purchase and install the new equipment. Be sure to notify BGE before implementing any changes to the approved project scope.
 
(Note: There is a time limit for installation—typically within 6 months of approval for retrofit projects and within 1 year of approval for new construction.)
 
4. Once your installation is complete, please sign and resubmit your application with an  authorized signature and supporting documentation, including detailed invoices. Ensure that the final equipment installed is identical to the equipment specified in your initial application.
 
(Note: A post-installation inspection may be required to verify the project is installed as proposed. You will be notified in writing when your project has been approved for payment.)
 
5. You will receive your incentive check within 6–8 weeks after verification of the approved  project.
