General Instructions
The primary point of contact between your company and the BGE HVAC Duct Sealing Rebate Program should complete this application.
The application process will include the following steps:
- Creating a user account for the online system, if you have not done so previously.
- Creating contact records in the online system for yourself (if you have not done so previously) and the BGE customer for whom the duct sealing was performed.
- Providing additional application information, including details about the equipment and performance data.
- Reviewing and agreeing to the terms and conditions for program participation.
- Uploading required supporting documentation including a copy of the customer invoice, the completed performance worksheet, and a copy of the terms and conditions that has been signed by the customer receiving the duct sealing.
Detailed instructions are provided below. Please print these instructions for future reference
Create New Application – No Existing Account
1. Click “Begin Application” button

2. Save this page to your web browser’s “Favorites” or “Bookmarks” section for future reference. Name the link “BGE Duct Sealing Program Login.”
3. Click “Create Account” button

4. Enter Account information to create your user account for the online system. Please record the E-mail Address and Password used to create your account in a convenient location for future reference; after submitting your application you will have the ability to log in to your account using this information to review your application and check its current status.
- Enter First and Last Name.
- Enter an E-mail Address to which messages about this application should be sent.
- Enter N/A for Utility Account Number.
- Choose a password and enter it into the Password and Repeat Password fields.
- Select “Submit Information” button

5. Provide contact information for the Primary Contact. The primary contact is the individual who should be contacted with questions about the application.
- Select a Contact Type of “Primary”.
- For Name This Contact, enter HVAC Contractor.
- Enter Contact First Name and Contact Last Name.
- Enter your Company Name.
- For Account Number enter N/A.
- Enter your company’s Address, City, State, and Zip.
- Enter your Phone number. If desired, provide an alternate phone number in the Cell field and a fax number in the Fax field.
- Enter the same E-mail Address used when creating your account. This is the e-mail address to which correspondence regarding the application will be sent. Failure to enter an e-mail address may result in delays processing your application should we need to contact you.
- Leave Tax ID blank.
- Select “Submit” button

6. Click Add New Contact to enter information about the customer for whom the duct sealing was performed.

- Select a Contact Type of “Premise”.
- For Name This Contact, enter the customer name.
- Establish a consistent format now (e.g. John Doe vs. Doe, John) because all of your contacts will appear in alphabetical order based on this field.
- Enter customer’s first and last name in the Contact First Name and Contact Last Name fields.
- Leave Company Name blank.
- Enter the customer’s 10 digit BGE account number in the Account Number field. A valid account number must be provided to avoid delays processing the application.
- Enter the Address, City, State, and Zip at which the duct sealing was performed.
- Enter the customer’s Phone number. If desired, provide an alternate phone number in the Cell field.
- Leave Fax blank.
- Enter the customer’s e-mail address in the e-mail field. If not available, enter N/A.
- Leave Tax ID blank.
- Select “Submit” button
7. On the Assign Application Contacts screen:
- Select the HVAC Contractor entered in Step 4 from the Primary Contact drop down box.
- Select the customer entered in Step 5 from the Premise Contact drop down box.
- Select your company’s name from the Contractor drop down box.
- Click Submit.

8. Enter information on the Your Application page. **PLEASE ENTER DATA IN ALL CAPS OR NUMBERS** The following bullets summarize the information that will be required in order to complete the application.
SECTION I - Customer Information Section:
- BGE Account Type (Electric, Gas or Electric & Gas)
SECTION II - Financial Incentive Worksheet:
- Please indicate who will be receiving the rebate (Customer or Contractor)

SECTION III - Duct Leakage Measurement & Verification (Test Method Requirement: Duct Blaster/Blower Door (Pre and post-test) and Flow Hood (Post-test)):
- Date Services Performed (click on field box to select date from calendar)
- HVAC Equipment is (New Install or Existing)
- Duct Location (Attic, Basement or Crawl Space)
- (A) Airflow (Per OEM specification or assume 400 CFM per ton) CFM
- (B) Pre-Improvement Duct Leakage CFM
- (C) Post-Improvement Duct Leakage CFM
- Total Leakage Reduction (B minus C) CFM =
- Percentage of Total Leakage Reduction [(B minus C) / B] x 100 = %

SECTION IV – Installed A/C or Heat Pump Information
- Type of Unit (Central A/C or Heat Pump):
- Manufacturer
- Outdoor Unit Model Number
- Outdoor Unit Serial Number
- Ton (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4 or 5)
- System CFM Delivery (Per OEM specification or assume 400 CFM per ton)
If duct sealing was performed on a Heat Pump, then all fields in this section are required. If duct sealing was performed on a Central A/C, then all fields except HSPF are required.

SECTION V – Installed Gas Furnace Information
- Duct Location (Attic, Basement or Crawlspace):
- Manufacturer
- Furnace Model Number
- Furnace Serial Number
- Capacity (Input BTU)
- Ton (1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4 or 5)
- AFUE
If the duct sealing was performed on a furnace, then all fields in this section are required.

9. Read through the Terms & Conditions Section

10. Check the “I Agree” check box in the “SIGNATURES” section

11. Click the “Submit” button in Section VIII – Application Submittal

12. Red “Required” flags will appear next to any fields that are not complete. Please correct these fields and click “Submit”

13. Following submittal, you will be forwarded to the Welcome page. The Project Number assigned to your application will appear under the Tasks header. The most recently submitted application will appear last in this section. Record this Project Number on your paper copy of the application, or the Performance Worksheet, for future reference.
14. Click the Project Number hyperlink to access your application, to which you will upload required supporting documentation. Failure to upload the required supporting documentation will result in delays processing your application.

15. When you click on the Application URL under the Tasks section, the Your Tasks screen will be displayed. Click the “?” icon in the Action column next to the UPLOAD INVOICE task. This will open the Upload Files window.

16. Click on the “Browse” button. Navigate to the location of your Invoice, select the form, and click “Open”. This will cause the file path to be displayed in the File field. The invoice must be made out to the BGE Account Holder for the premise where the duct sealing was performed. It must also include the Date of Purchase and Install Cost. Failure to upload a complete invoice will result in delays processing your application.
17. Click “Upload” to upload the file.

18. After attaching a copy of the customer invoice, repeat steps 10-13 to upload the Terms and Conditions signed by both parties as indicated in the workflow tasks. The Terms and Conditions must be signed by the BGE Account Holder for the Premise Address and all fields must be complete. An incorrect or incomplete Terms and Conditions form will result in delays processing your application
19. After attaching the Terms and Conditions, repeat steps 10-13 to upload the Performance Worksheet. All fields in the Performance Worksheet must be complete. An incomplete Performance Worksheet will result in delays processing your application
20. Once all documents are uploaded, click the Refresh icon in the upper right. The screen should refresh to show all action buttons with a green check mark indicating the tasks are complete.
21. When you are done, click the “X” in the upper right hand corner of the screen to close it.
22. Log out of the online system using the “LOG OUT” hyperlink next to your name in the Welcome Tab, or simply close your browser.
23. You may log back onto the system to check the status of your rebate in the Program Application Center. Here you can view submitted Applications, Tasks, and Messages.

24. To review an application, click on the Applications Tab. Here you will see all applications you have submitted.
- A status of Application Complete indicates that a rebate check has been mailed. The unique Project # assigned to your application is also displayed. If you have instructed that payment be made to the contractor, then this Project # will be referenced on the rebate check.
- To view an application, click on the VIEW button.

25. Within the Manage Application window, you can select several tabs to view information about your specific application.
- The Messages Tab will display any notes concerning your application.
- The Primary Contact will receive an email notification with a Project Number when a note is added to the Messages Tab. Please ensure the email address listed under your Primary Contact is accurate and current.
- These notes include important information about the status of the application, such as flaws that require corrective action.
- After making the requested corrections to an application, post a note in the Messages Tab confirming the corrections using the “Contact Us” button. This step is vital to ensure the Program receives notification of the update.
- The Application Tab will display a copy of your application.
- The Rebates Tab will display the rebate value associated with your application once the application has reached a certain point in the review process.
26. Within the Manage Application window, you can select the Print icon to print a copy of the application. Click "x" at the top right hand corner of the Manage Application window to close it.

27. To review all of your Contacts created during the application process, click on the Contacts Tab.
- Click “Edit” To edit a Contact’s information
- You cannot change the project number to which a Primary or Premise Contact is assigned. To request such a change, post a note in the Messages Tab detailing your request.

Create New Application – Existing Account
1. To reach the login page for the Duct Sealing Program, select the browser link added to your “Favorites” or “Bookmarks” during account setup named “BGE Duct Sealing Program Login.”
2. Enter the E-mail Address and Password provided when you initially created your account. (If you have forgotten you password, use the link below the login fields to retrieve it.)

3. Once Logged in, click the Apply Now menu item on the left side of the screen to start the application process, and then click Begin Application.
4. On the Assign Application Contacts screen, if you have not done so when entering a previous application click Add New Contact and follow Step 5 of the Create new Application – No Existing Account section to enter contact information for the Primary Contact. The primary contact is the individual who should be contacted with questions about the application.
5. Click Add New Contact and follow Step 6 of the Create New Application – No Existing Account section to enter information about the customer for whom the duct sealing was performed.
6. On the Assign Application Contacts screen:
- Select the HVAC Contractor entered in Step 4 from the Primary Contact drop down box.
- Select the customer entered in Step 5 from the Premise Contact drop down box.
- Select your company’s name from the Contractor drop down box.
- Click Submit.
7. Continue entering your application by following Steps 8 to 24 of the Create New Application – No Existing Account section.
Tips to Avoid Flawed Applications
- Verify that the correct 10-digit BGE Account Number is entered into the application.
- Verify that the correct BGE Account Holder Name is listed in the Premise Contact.
- Verify that the Invoice contains the BGE Account Holder’s Name, Date of Purchase, and Install Cost.
- Verify that the BGE Account Holder for the Premise Address signed the Terms and Conditions form and that all fields on the form are complete.
- Verify that all data on the Performance Worksheet is complete and accurate.
- Carefully verify all information on application before submission as it is not editable.
