Homeowners
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® offers a comprehensive, whole-house approach to improving your home’s energy efficiency, comfort, and safety—boosting your home’s overall appeal while helping to reduce your energy use by up to 20% or more.
A certified Home Performance contractor will use state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to perform a comprehensive home energy audit and determine how improvements throughout your home can work together to maximize energy efficiency and savings. After the audit, your contractor will provide you with a list of recommendations for specific energy-saving measures and home improvements that will boost your home’s comfort, energy efficiency, and save you money.
Customers can save up to $2,450 on approved home energy efficiency improvements with rebates from BGE. Home energy improvement loans are also available from the Maryland Clean Energy Center to help cover the full cost of certain home improvements. Here’s how to maximize your savings and comfort:
- Take advantage of BGE’s rebates, you must work with a participating Home Performance with ENERGY STAR contractor. Your contractor will help you determine the best improvements for your home and help you apply for BGE rebate.
- If financing is needed, contact the Maryland Clean Energy Center for loans that can help cover the full cost of improvements.
- Be sure to take advantage of applicable 2011 Federal Tax Credits which can cover up to 10% of certain improvements.
