1. How do I access the Web Portal for my Smart Switch?
2. Why does my remote management system say PeakRewards®?
3. Can I schedule an override through the online portal?
4. Does the remote management site keep a record of all Critical Peak Periods and cycling events?
1. How do I access the Web Portal for my Smart Switch?
Log onto BGE.com/myaccount and sign into your account using the username and password you have on file. Once you log in, you’ll see a Smart Energy Pricing link in your user profile section. Click that link and you’ll have access to the remote management system.
2. Why does my remote management system say PeakRewards®?
Remember, the Smart Energy Pricing Pilot Program is a pilot. Therefore, we are using technologies and systems that are already in use to control costs. Once the pilot is thoroughly tested and analyzed, we will dedicate technologies specifically for the program.
3. Can I schedule an override through the online portal?
Yes. To schedule an override, select the date on the calendar and the duration. Remember you have only two days you can override through the entire pilot. Once you’ve chosen your day or days click apply. Be sure the date you choose is correct; once you click apply you will not be able to change the date. For research purposes only, the system will ask you to explain the reason for requesting the override. Your response to this section just allows BGE to determine the key reasons for requesting overrides, which will help BGE continue to improve the program. As long as you haven’t gone over the two time override limit, your request will be accepted. Remember unplanned Critical Peak Days cannot be overridden.
Note: Sometimes PeakRewards® customers do not have the option to override an event, so the override link will not appear. If this occurs, please call the Smart Energy Pricing Team to schedule an override for you.
4. Does the remote management site keep a record of all Critical Peak Periods and cycling events?
Yes. The Cycling History link directs you to a view of your complete cycling history. To view a listing of when your central air conditioning experienced a cycle, click on the View Complete History button. Your history will be displayed for each Smart Switch, giving you the start date, end date, and the cycling duration (or how long the cycle lasted). By clicking the view function’s drop down menu on the right, you can isolate the listing to feature cycling history for the day, week, year or all cycling events.
