At BGE, safety is our top priority. As part of our commitment to safety, we’re closely monitoring developments related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and taking appropriate precautions to protect the health and safety of our customers, contractors and employees. At this time, BGE recommends that participating contractors and Service Providers only enter buildings with the prior consent of businesses, and that they follow the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) recommended precautions. Please check back soon for updates.
Automated Benchmarking Tool
Using ENERGY STAR® Facilities, you can benchmark your building or multifamily property's energy performance through BGE.com under the "My Account" tab. Benchmarking compares your building to similar ones in a national database, providing an ENERGY STAR Score based on your building's energy performance.
ENERGY STAR Facilities replaces the Automated Benchmarking Tool. Data on buildings you already benchmarked are stored in the ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager.
This is the first of several steps to aggregate your energy usage for all occupants, businesses and retailers who reside in a building or campus-style setting. The system will aggregate your electric and/or gas usage for the last 12 months.
ENERGY STAR Facilities provides monthly energy consumption data automatically to Portfolio Manager to keep your account current for annual benchmarking requirements or sustainability requirements.
To access ENERGY STAR Facilities, login to My Account at BGE.com. You'll need to sign in or register for "My Account".
Please have the following information available if creating a new login:
- BGE account number
- The last 4 digits of the Business Tax ID number; or the last 4 digits of the primary account holder's Social Security Number
To help manage and reduce your energy use, please update your facility information and select notifications for high energy alerts and weekly energy reports.
Note: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and FHA–HUD offer loan discounts for multifamily housing properties that have a benchmark score.
